Expanding Donkervoort sales to America has been a long-held dream of Denis Donkervoort\u2019s, ever since he studied Marketing and Management at Florida\u2019s Northwood University in 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI always wanted to be able to drive one of our cars in America when I studied here,\u201d Donkervoort remembered.
\u201cAnd this year, I actually did!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first Donkervoort model available in the US will be the D8 GTO Individual Series, priced from US$240,000 (plus options, taxes and fees), sold and serviced through an agreement with Donkervoort\u2019s US partner, Bespoke Imports Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first Donkervoort will arrive shortly at Bespoke partner Naples Motorsports in Naples, Florida. Two other Donkervoorts are being sent to Colorado and California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With more than 400 horsepower from the 2.5-liter Audi Sport five-cylinder turbo engine, and less than 1500lb to push around, the US Donkervoorts blast to 62mph in just 2.7 seconds \u2013 and run from zero to 124mph in only 7.7 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
